Product Description
Link-all's 120KM 2.5G BIDI SFP transceivers are high performance, cost effective modules supporting data rate of 2.5Gbps and 120km transmission distance with SMF.
The transceiver consists of three sections: a DFB laser transmitter, an APD photodiode integrated with a trans-impedance preamplifier (TIA) and MCU control unit. All modules satisfy class I laser safety requirements.
The transceivers are compatible with SFP Multi-Source Agreement and SFF-8472 digital diagnostics functions.

Plug Seq.: Pin engagement sequence during hot plugging.
1) TX Fault is an open collector output, which should be pulled up with a 4.7k~10kΩ resistor on the hostboard to a voltage between 2.0V and Vcc+0.3V. Logic 0 indicates normal operation; Logic 1 indicates a
laser fault of some kind. In the low state, the output will be pulled to less than 0.8V.
2) Laser output disabled on TDIS >2.0V or open, enabled on TDIS <0.8V.
3) LOS is open collector output. Should be pulled up with 4.7k~10kΩ on host board to a voltage between
2.0V and 3.6V. Logic 0 indicates normal operation; logic 1 indicates loss of signal.
4) RD-/+: These are the differential receiver outputs. They are internally AC-coupled 100 differential lines
which should be terminated with 100Ω (differential) at the user SERDES.
5) TD-/+: These are the differential transmitter inputs. They are internally AC-coupled, differential lines with100Ω differential termination inside the module.
EEPROM Information and Management
The SFP transceivers support the 2-wire serial communication protocol as defined in the SFP MSA.
The standard SFP serial ID provides access to identification information that describes the transceiver'scapabilities, standard interfaces, manufacturer, and other information.
Additionally, The SFP transceivers provide a unique enhanced digital diagnostic monitoring interface, whichallows real-time access to device operating parameters such as transceiver temperature, laser bias current,transmitted optical power, received optical power and transceiver supply voltage. It also defines asophisticated system of alarm and warning flags, which alerts end-users when particular operatingparameters are outside of a factory set normal range.
The SFP MSA defines a 256-byte memory map in EEPROM that is accessible over a 2-wire serial interface atthe 8 bit address 1010000X (A0h).The digital diagnostic monitoring interface makes use of the 8 bit address1010001X (A2h), so the originally defined serial ID memory map remains unchanged.
The operating and diagnostics information is monitored and reported by a Digital Diagnostics TransceiverController (DDTC) inside the transceiver, which is accessed through a 2-wire serial interface. When the serialprotocol is activated, the serial clock signal (SCL, Mod Def 1) is generated by the host. The positive edgeclocks data into the SFP transceiver into those segments of the E2PROM that are not write-protected. The negative edge clocks data from the SFP transceiver. The serial data signal (SDA, Mod Def 2) is bi-directionalfor serial data transfer. The host uses SDA in conjunction with SCL to mark the start and end of serial protocolactivation. The memories are organized as a series of 8-bit data words that can be addressed individually orsequentially.
